Black Pumas' frontman and former Santa Monica busker Eric Burton has a voice that would make Donny Hathaway smile. His bandmate/partner Grammy Award-winning guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada heard it immediately. The buzz around their camps in Austin, TX brought them together shortly after Burton moved to Texas. Born in the San Fernando Valley, he grew up in church and then got heavily involved in musical theater. His vocal chops married to Quesada's timeless tunes keep their organic vibe infectiously delicious. The funky single "Colors" is from their self-titled debut out on ATO Records. The band will be performing on Friday, September 20th at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg. See you on Friday.
